Changing the Window menu from the common menu bar in Ubuntu 14.04

 

This is a new feature in Ubuntu 14.04. With this property the user can decide where the menus for each window should appear. By default the menu for windows will appear in the common menu bar. To change this follow the steps given below

Right click on the Ubuntu Desktop, and click on the menu item “Change Desktop Background”.

In the appeared window named “Appearance”, go to the second tab named “Behavior”.

There as highlighted in the picture below you can see the option named “Show the menus for a window”. One value for this option, selected by default is “In the menu bar”. This will cause the menus to appear in the common menu bar. The second value is “In the window’s title bar”. This will cause the each windows menus to appear in their respective title bar.
